Opening Up To Success

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Opening Up To Success

Why is it that some people can do something and get a big result, and when other’s do the same thing, they hardly see anything?

It happens with marketing all the time… and there are several different possibilities that could explain the phenomenon, including the people they targeted, the message they put together etc…

Then, there is something that is not discussed as often, but which is just as important – perhaps even more so… that is creating the energetic space for success and abundance to exist in your life the way you want it to.

What do I mean? Well, if you are finding that you are often focused on the lack of what you want in your life, then as you’ve probably come across many times, you are actually creating more of that ‘lack’ in your world. What you focus on expands, so if you are focused on the lack of clients, the lack of money or the lack of something else, then you will actually be creating more of that lack.

Try shifting your focus… even if you don’t have a lot, if you can just orient your attention to what you do have, focus on how much you appreciate it and really move into the emotional space of feeling that, you can shift things around and begin to have a different experience.

It does take practice and focus… but so did the habit of worrying and focusing on the negative or the lack. That’s just a habit you’ve developed. You can just as easily develop a habit around thinking positively, appreciating what is showing up in your world and opening up to having more and more of what you truly want.

Marketing Concepts: Outcomes, Results And More

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Marketing Concepts: Outcomes, Results And More

In the past few weeks I’ve had a ton of conversations about the marketing concepts around features, and the outcomes and results people get from my client’s products and services.

It seems this is a tough area for a lot of people… something they get stuck on frequently, so I thought I’d dig into this marketing concept a little more and see if I can shed some light on it for you too.

What most people do…

When most people start to share about their product or service – whether that’s in a networking conversation, in some form of writing, or even in interviews and media – very often they are talking about the features of what they have or what they do.

The features are the factual bits and bobs about what you’ve got… like how many hours of private time come in a coaching package, or how many bells and whistles this doodad has and what color it comes in.

If you are talking about what you’ve got in that way, I would bet money that you aren’t seeing great results from your marketing efforts. There’s a reason…

What you want to do…

People buy because they want a particular result. There are lots of them that people want…  Here are a few of the biggest…

People want to make money, they want to have more time, they want to feel good about their body/appearance and they want fulfilling and intimate relationships. These are the outcomes, the results people are looking for… and in most cases, pretty much any product or service can be tied to them, or something like them, in some way. Sometimes you will need to be a little creative, but that’s one of the fun things about marketing!

You may not want to talk about your product or service in these terms, but the bottom line is that if you aren’t talking about how what you’ve got will create a transformation and give someone results and outcomes that they desire, you’ll find your marketing is more ‘miss’ on the hit-and-miss scale than right on the bull’s-eye.

If you’re interested in learning more about marketing concepts that you can apply to your business to help you get the clients and cash flow you’re looking for, don’t miss my upcoming Marketing in the Morning webinar… you can register here.

Breathing Deep

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Breathing Deep

Not sure if you can relate to this, but I seem to go through phases… sometimes they last a few hours to a few days, sometimes it’s a few weeks.

Phases where I feel like I’m in charge of things, like I have a handle on what is going on and what’s coming next – those feel really (REALLY!) good…

And then there are phases where I feel like no matter how much I organize myself and my time, I feel ‘out of sorts’ and like I’m just on the edge of total mayhem.

It’s not really true of course… things don’t generally change that much hour to hour in my life (there are occasions, but mostly it’s not what’s really happening, it’s just a perception), so I’ve been trying to figure out what triggers those moments of fear and worry about what’s going on and not feeling like I can ‘manage’ it all.

What I’m realizing is that, for me at least, it means I’m stretching. It means I’m challenging myself to do things that are different and new for me. They may not even be very big things to other people, or even to me, but if you add a chunk of those things in with the regular stuff I’m juggling, suddenly it starts to feel VERY out of control.

What I’m finding works best is planning, breathing and taking just one step at a time. It’s all we can really do anyway… so what’s happening in my mind is that I’m looking at the day or week ahead and I’m worrying (ahem… freaking out?) about things I’m supposed to be doing soon, so I’m not focused in the now. When I plan my day and give myself a small number of key tasks to move things forward, it eases a bit of that pressure and A TON MORE GETS DONE. If I don’t do it that way, I feel uptight, can’t focus and really don’t have any forward momentum at all.

So, take a deep breath and decide it’s ok to take 5 minutes and plan your day, your next few hours – whatever stretch is in front of you. Once you have it down on paper, and you pick out 2-3 key things you can focus on, you’ll find things move along a bit smoother. No, you probably won’t loose the anxious feeling… but maybe that’s just excitement anyway…?

Oh… and I’m doing a webinar this week that you won’t want to miss if you need to get to planning and focusing to get things done. We’ll be talking about how to get your marketing to really work in your business, and that is, in part, through planning things properly. If you are interested, you can register here.

Where Is Your Mojo Flowing?

Posted by: | Comments Comments Off on Where Is Your Mojo Flowing?

Was talking with a friend a little while back… someone who seemed to be getting asked out on a date about 12 times a day (no, I’m not really exaggerating… well… maybe it was more like 8 times a day). She was sharing about how a few other areas of her life were either humming along at break-neck speed (like the dating area) or they were stuck in a rut the size of the Grand Canyon. So, I suggested she take a look at what was making her mojo flow in the areas of her life that were working exceptionally well, and see if she could apply any of what she was doing to the areas that were stagnating. And, I’ll ask you the same question. For a few people, the crap seems to hit the fan from everywhere and in every area of their life at the same time. That truly SUCKS. But, for most of us, 1 or more areas are usually chugging along happily – almost under the radar because they aren’t demanding our attention – they’re working and we tend to focus on what’s NOT working instead of what is. Let’s shine a light of the things that ARE working, take a look at how that feels, spend some time reveling in and appreciating the blessings that are there, and then take a look at how you lined yourself up to the positives in those areas and see if there is any way to use any of what you did in the areas that aren’t flowing like the Orinoco. (I suddenly have an urge to break out my one of my fav 90’s CDs… some Enya, anyone?) When you start to examine the areas that are working, and apply what you’ve learned about getting into flow there, you can begin to shift – little by little, or even sometimes, a whole lot – the areas that still seem to be cemented in place. And, if you are ready to have your marketing ‘unstuck’ then don’t miss my upcoming Marketing in the Morning™ webinar. We’ll be talking about how to get your marketing to work like gangbusters so you can have that gushing flow of clients and cash you want. Sound good? Register here.

Don’t Give Up

Posted by: | Comments (3)

As you wander, run, tip toe, saunter, skip and sometimes d-r-a-g yourself along your entrepreneurial path I want to encourage you to keep your eye on the prize – your goals.

There will be plenty of times where things don’t look the way you’d hoped, or where they don’t turn out ANYTHING LIKE what you really wanted – in fact, that will probably be most of the time…

And then, there will be those times where things turn out WAY better than you even dreamed possible. (Here’s to many more of those!) The bottom line through it all though is that you can’t give up when things are tough… you have to keep going.

When you make a decision and follow through, regardless of the odds, things begin to shift. The tough stuff starts to fall away and things do start to get easier. If you look for it, you’ll see the pattern in your life, in the lives of those around you in and in the lives of every successful person out there. Trials and tribulations are par for the course… stay on your path and you will get greater rewards than you imagine.

I believe marketing is one of those areas where you simply need to keep going, no matter what things are looking like. Of course, you want to assess, and if things aren’t working, you need to make changes, but the bottom line is, things don’t usually work the first time we try them… so you have to be willing to stay the course.

If you want some support and information on exactly how to do that, join me on my upcoming Marketing in the Morning™ webinar – we’ll be digging into how to make your marketing easier and more fun that you ever thought possible… which makes it super easy to keep going, even when things aren’t quite what you expect.
