Do you know your business has less than a 25% chance of survival? It’s true, at least according to the U.S. Dept. of Commerce.

What’s even worse is that those statistics were gathered in 2009

According to Dunn & Bradstreet in 2011, the number of new businesses being started each year sky-rocketed since 2006, which, in my opinion is most likely due to layoffs and difficulties in job markets…

Ultimately though, that means there’s even more competition out there than there was in 2009.

And, to top that off, the economic climate is still pretty sucky… there may be some rumblings that things are shifting, but it’s still going to be a while before it’s smooth sailing economically


So, what does that mean to you?

Well, before we get into that, let me ask you a few basic questions…

Do You Want More Clients?
Do You Want To Work Less?
Do You Want To Make More Money?

Honestly, it’s pretty unlikely you didn’t answer ‘Yes’ to all three… particularly, if you can have more clients and make more money, WHILE working less… and we’ll get to that…

These are the top 3 things I hear most entrepreneurs are buzzing about all the time, either out loud, or, they tell me, just incessantly in their heads

  • “Where will I find my next client?”
  • “How do I make more time for family, friends and a real life outside of my business?”
  • “How can I kick the feelings of overwhelm to the curb and figure it out, once and for all?”
  • “Is it possible to build my business with a simple model and a straight forward path to cash?”
  • How can I make more money, without having to work more hours (there are no more hours!) and end up working even harder?”

Heck, if you’re like most entrepreneurs you are working just about every freaking minute you can fit in… even in the shower, walking, driving… you’re still working, engaged in the same conversation in your head


Frankly, it stinks.

If you’re like me, then you set out on your entrepreneurial path to create a lifestyle that is fulfilling – on both the personal and business fronts. You wanted to change lives, do that thing that makes your heart sing and make really good money, working with people you love. And, you’re probably damn tired of not being able to have what you set out to create…


Here’s the catch…

Most people will never get there. It’s a cold, hard fact. Less than 50% of businesses survive 5 years or longer, and only 1 in 4 make it to 15 years or more. That’s only 25%…

Those aren’t very good odds.

I don’t know about you, but when I started my business, I decided I wanted to be in that elusive 25% club.

If you’ve decided you want to be in that 25% club too, it’s time to do something about where you are and what you are doing… and in order to do something about it, you have to figure out where the heck you actually are… you need to diagnose your situation, figure out where you are, where you want to go, and how you are going to get there.



I believe pretty much every business has a map, even a million dollar map.

You may or may not realize you have a map, you may be deliberately creating your map, or you may just be driving along letting whatever shows up be your experience in the world. That last thing there… that’s a HUGE MISTAKE.

If you aren’t deliberate about your map, and your destination, you have a seriously slim chance of getting where you want to go.

Think about it… if you get into the car with no destination in mind and just drive, you might run into some interesting things along the way, or, it’s just as likely you’ll run into absolute nothing, or even worse, a crappy situation you’d rather not have ended up in.

Setting off with no destination in mind will produce a very different outcome than saying, “Hey, I want to go to the Empire State Building,” plotting the course, figuring out the directions and then following them, step-by-step, until you reach your destination.

I can tell you right now, the view from the top of the Empire State building in the heart of NYC, is better than the view from a back alley in Newark,NJ… you decide which one you want to end up with…

Are You On Your Million Dollar Map?

AKA: Here’s What The Session Will Do For You…

In the ‘You Are Here’ Business Diagnostic we are going to determine exactly where you are on your map – if that’s a million dollar map, or a 6-Figure Map or, even a billion dollar map.

The first step to doing that is figuring out where you want to go… now, I know you’ve probably heard it a bunch of times, but this really is one of the most important steps. If you don’t have a destination, you don’t really have a map. If you don’t have a map, your chances of creating what you want are SLIM TO NIL.

That destination, your map, can be the place you want to reach in 1 year, in 2 years or in 10 years – that’s really up to you.

Just want to note, if it’s one of those longer term things, it helps to break it down into milestones, so you can figure out what you need to do to accomplish the first piece. It gives you the ability to track how things are going, course-correct, and, of course, celebrate along the way. If you don’t, it often stays very much like ‘pie in the sky’ always out there somewhere, elusive and out of reach.

Once we figure out where you want to go, we’ll zero in on where you are… it’s absolutely essential to understand and know where you are in relation to where you want to go, or you can’t figure out if you have to make a right turn, a left turn, keep going straight, or even double back a little bit…

Then, once we figure out exactly where you are, we’re going to figure out exactly what your next steps are, and find out if there is anything holding you back from setting out and taking those steps. (Many entrepreneurs find that as soon as they can see the big picture – the ‘map’ – they understand where they are and where they want to go and that opens things up. They end up inspired like they haven’t been since they first set out, and they know EXACTLY what to do next, and what comes after that. It’s like breathing new life into you and your business, and it removes that need for ‘life-support’ because, suddenly you find you can do what you set out to do, you know what and how to do it.)

We’ll also look for any holes, shortcuts or places you can create leverage or systems to simplify your business and make things easier. If you knew you could do the same amount of business you are doing right now, in half the time, would you want to do it? Wouldn’t that free up a bunch of time to focus on building more business – or spending some time with family or friends, or even just replenishing your worn out and tired batteries…
